Our Tongue is Capable of Good and Bad

We have a big responsibility of how we use our speech/our tongue. Let's look at James 3:1-12. Tap the blue letters to

 Greetings!
In the book of James we read "When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal" (verse 3:3)
"Consider when a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.  The tongue also is a fire.  It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell." (verses 5-6)

Our tongues/or words certainly can start a spark of trouble.  Has your tongue spoke bitter words or mean words to someone recently?  Has your same mouth cursed someone?    Hopefully, no gossip was coming from your voice!!
We must attempt to "tame" our tongues.  The James Scriptures also say that our words can be full of deadly poison.    People don't quickly forget the harm of someone's words.   This small tongue can create a whirlwind of damage.
At the same time, our tongue can give praise and share kindness.  We can offer praise to our Lord Jesus!   Kind words like please, thanks, and bless you come from that same tongue.  As you go about your day, watch how your "words" sound.  Are you more negative or positive with others?
If you are very very careful, you will do some "taming" of the words you pick.
